ABOUT

Catherine Tyree Flores

Catherine (Cat) Tyree Flores is an international show jumping athlete based in Wellington, Florida, and North Salem, New York. With a talented string of horses in her program, she has enjoyed significant success competing at the highest levels both across the United States and internationally. As a professional rider, Cat looks forward to continuing to represent the United States on the world stage.

A lifelong equestrian from Chicago, Cat began her riding career under the guidance of Katie Kappler. In her final junior year, she started training with Missy Clark and John Brennan at North Run, where she truly flourished into a world-class athlete. At just 21 years old, she competed in her first World Cup Qualifier, and less than two years later, she made her senior Nations Cup debut for Team USA.

In 2019, Cat transitioned to professional status and established her year-round base in Wellington, Florida. Her string of talented horses — including Camilla Z, Newton Van Het Krekelhof, Pikeur Lareen, and Goodman 28, as well as past mounts BEC Lorenzo, Bokai, Enjoy Louis, and Catungee — have achieved remarkable success under her guidance, competing across the United States and internationally. Among her many accomplishments are a second-place finish in the 2016 HITS Saugerties $1 Million Grand Prix, third place in the 2019 $130,000 Longines FEI World Cup President's Cup Grand Prix at the Washington International Horse Show, and a victory in the $214,000 Holiday & Horses CSI4* Grand Prix. She has also earned multiple FEI wins at prestigious events including the Winter Equestrian Festival, the Palm Beach Masters, the Devon Horse Show, the American Gold Cup, Jumping de Dinard, and the Royal Winter Fair.

Cat has proudly represented Team USA on five occasions, including appearances at the renowned Hickstead and Falsterbo events, and continues to build on her impressive career as one of America’s leading show jumping athletes.
